Symptom Presentation and Access to Medical Care in Patients With Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome: Role of Sex.

This study explores the role of sex differences in the diagnosis, symptom presentation, comorbidities, and treatment experiences of patients with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). A comprehensive survey involving over 8,900 POTS patients revealed that despite a predominantly female patient demographic, both male and female patients experience high rates of misdiagnosis (over 74% for both genders). However, female patients encounter more diagnostic challenges than their male counterparts. The study highlights the need for increased awareness and recognition of POTS to improve diagnosis and management for all patients.
