POTS and Pregnancy: A Review of Literature and Recommendations for Evaluation and Treatment.

This review addresses the interaction between Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and pregnancy, highlighting the scarcity of research and clinical guidelines for managing POTS in pregnant women. It concludes that while pregnancy is generally safe for women with POTS, effective management necessitates the involvement of a multi-disciplinary team familiar with POTS and its associated conditions. The review stresses the need for more comprehensive studies to understand pregnancy outcomes and related complications in POTS patients better. Clinicians are encouraged to recognize and address the complexities of POTS during pregnancy, using existing knowledge and strategies to optimize care before, during, and after childbirth.
