Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS): Priorities for POTS care and research from a 2019 National Institutes of Health Expert Consensus Meeting - Part 2.

This article summarizes the priorities for research and clinical care for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) as outlined by a 2019 NIH workshop. The meeting identified significant gaps in understanding POTS pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment, which contribute to suboptimal care for many patients. It stressed the need for increased research funding and standardized evaluation tools to support collaborative studies. A national POTS research consortium was recommended to advance clinical research and therapeutic trials. The article emphasizes improving physician education and developing research infrastructure to enhance patient outcomes.
