Can LDN help with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)? - Dr Leonard Weinstock

Dr. Leonard Weinstock discusses the potential benefits of Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) in treating symptoms associated with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). While no formal studies have been conducted, Dr. Weinstock theorizes that LDN may help by decreasing T-cell and B-cell activity, which can potentially reduce mast cell activation. In his clinical experience, about 60% of MCAS patients found improvement in various symptoms, including fatigue, depression, brain fog, nausea, abdominal pain, and joint pain. However, 20% of patients experienced no change, and another 20% had to discontinue due to side effects. These findings suggest that LDN could be considered as part of a treatment strategy for MCAS, especially for those experiencing overlapping syndromes like fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue.
